Well, I don’t think that beers haven’t been calibrated for the Ticinese market, I don’t want to mean this, but I think just that Italy was also in their plans, maybe not in the foreground, when they conceived this project.. Maybe I think so because they are in the Italian canton and Italy is really near not only geographically..Or maybe it’s just that I consider them italians as much as me:) Well, surely you know this things better than me, I only have to learn from you!

Finally, I agree with you when you say that Bad Attitude beers are
a very bold move, really brilliant, in fact I’m very positive about them and there’s no doubt that this way will encourage the brewers to go on in that direction.

Indeed they’ll be trying to sell the canned beer also over the border in Italy, but having discussed with the guys, clearly the aim is to sell most of the Bad Attitude Beer on draught locally, in Ticino. (Anyway : I’m not aware of many breweries living on export markets only without a solid customer base in the region of production.)

Therefore the beers have been calibrated for the Ticinese market, and, like every foreign beer, have to be considered in their own context, not in your context. (I mean, would you slag off, say, Schneider Weisse because it’s a bit timid compared to some bigger Italian beers, just because they are trying to sell it in Italy ? I hope not…)

Besides, compared to the previous San Martino products, Bad Attitude beers are a very bold move, and to me that’s enough to be very positive about them and to encourage the brewers to go on in that direction.

@W W: Ricordi bene sulle birre del BA..Ne ho parlato “tanto per” (ma nemmeno tanto per poi, volevo “testare” la reazione”) in ufficio stamattina con alcuni colleghi, hanno visto gli adesivi e la grafica ed è piaciuta tantissimo, le frasi poi sono veramente ben scelte e di effetto, quando ho accennato che sarebbero state in lattina ecco emergere la mentalità italiana, la lattina fa molto birra discount “perché da giovane si beveva la Dana Brau in lattina che sapeva proprio di alluminio”, “sarà solo per un mercato di nicchia”, etc. Dopo qualche spiegazione e chiarimento circa il fatto che questo è un elemento tutto italiano di una mentalità distorta, ecco che già hanno iniziato a porsi con più curiosità..Mi ci gioco le ….. che se gliene porto una cassa se le scolano..Ma ho visto che c’è tanto da lavorare, addirittura si pensa che la birra “cruda” sia più alcolica, che le birre artigianali siano più “pesanti”, etc. Oltre al “lavoro” vero e proprio mi impegnerò anche a lavorare su sto fronte, speriamo bene! (Già si è accennato all’idea di fare una birra fatta dai dipendenti, sarebbe una bella idea!)
@ Andrea: Eh, mannaggia, per le cose belle il tempo è sempre poco Per Roma, ormai lo prometto a tutti, a te, a BossArtiglio, ad Alex, a Manuele, ai miei vecchi amici di Roma, etc. quindi DEVO venire, penso di riuscire ad organizzarmi (insieme ad un altro compagno di bevute MoBI) per scendere dal venerdì al lunedì (magari dopo marzo che sul corso di degustazione voglio star concentrato )..Ovviamente vi avviso con anticipo così non prendete impegni se non quello di farmi da cicerone nella vostra splendida città che adoro sempre più ad ogni visita..

i risultati delle premiazioni (ero presente) sono state giuste, anche se alcune cose il mio palato non le ha condivise!

riguardo la bad attitude se non ricordo male le birre erano “bootlegger” con il 27%di segale, il 10% di frumento, 5 malti e luppoli americani e neozelandesi.

Colore SRM4.3
(precisi, si vede che sono svizzeri!)
Oltre la bootlegger producono la “Hobo”: malti d’orzo, avena,luppolo Amarillo/perle/east kent golding e lievito lager lavorato a 25°c

Colore SRM 12.9

(credo proprio di ricordare bene, ho trovato la loro brochure)

@ Laurent: If I may say my humble opinion and aks just a question.. I think that: Bad attitude, that’s true, is found in Ticino, but if they want to appear as innovative element also, and I think especially, in Italy, why we can’t see it also in the Italian context, since they will sell to us too?
