Birra del Borgo, one of the most important Italian craft breweries, has just been bought by AB InBev. It’s shocking news for our national craft beer movement and is the first case in Italy of an acquisition by a big company. An official communication should come out soon. In the meantime, I’ll keep you updated on the story. For the moment I can tell you that the amount purchased by AB InBev is 100%, but that the company structure will not change, with founder Leonardo Di Vincenzo still serving as CEO and maintaining decision-making powers.
